What are Readiness Assessments?
Most estimates of how much CDR we must deploy are global, while it is unclear what is achievable at country level.
By assessing the potential for CDR deployment on a country-by-country basis and co-creating specific roadmaps with key stakeholders for each country, decision-makers can better understand what opportunities exist and what actions need to be taken to realise them.
Inspired by the Renewable Readiness Assessments conducted by the International Renewable energy agency, Carbon Removal Readiness Assessments aim to address this gap by identifying the truly feasible CDR deployment potential in key countries through a bottom-up approach and consequentially, encourage inclusion of CDR into national policy debates.
